Bojjannakonda

Bojjannakonda is a significant Buddhist archaeological site located near Sankaram in the Anakapalli region of Andhra Pradesh. The eastern hill contains ancient rock-cut caves, monolithic stupas, Buddhist sculptures and a life-sized Buddha statue. Together with the nearby Lingalakonda hill, it represents an important centre of Buddhist heritage in the region, dating broadly from the early centuries of the Common Era through the later Buddhist period. Visitors can explore the rock-cut structures, observe intricate carvings and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
