FULL DETAILS
Dolphin's Nose Lighthouse is one of Visakhapatnam's distinctive coastal landmarks, located on Dolphin's Nose hill between Yarada and Gangavaram Port. The hill gets its name from its distinctive shape resembling a dolphin's nose. The lighthouse stands on a prominent rocky headland and serves as an important navigational landmark for ships approaching Visakhapatnam Port. The present lighthouse tower is a 19-metre square masonry structure with distinctive black-and-white bands. Visitors can enjoy expansive views of the Bay of Bengal, coastline and port area from this elevated location. The site also has historical significance, with the hill having been used as a military camp during the British period.
